Week 1 with Rémy

Le Recettes de Rémy, a cookbook I purchased at Disneyland Paris in 2016.

On January 4, I started cooking and baking through this fabulous cookbook based on the Disney•Pixar movie, “Ratatouille.” If you haven’t seen the film, it’s about a rat who loves gourmet food and lives in France. I remember flipping though the pages once I got home and realizing it was all in French (duh!) and that I would have to translate everything in order to use the recipes. I have roughly 10 weeks of French instruction under my belt, so I am relying on Google Translate to get me through this adventure.

Here’s a list of the seven recipes I cooked and baked this week:

1/49: Soupe de tomates « à la Gusteau »

2/49: Hamburgers à la française

3/49: Crumble banana-coco

4/49: Poulet au fromage en robe de jambon

5/49: Vacherins fastoches aux framboises

6/49: Ratatouille touille touille

7/49: Les linguine a la Linguini

After spending a week with this cookbook, I can say that most of the recipes are very simple and would be fun to cook through with kids.
